What do I wear do to winter formal?

What kind of dress and what kind of shoes? Where is the best place to get these? Any tips for hair, makeup, etc? And any things I should know for the big night?

Wow, you freshmen try WAY too hard. Just find a dress you like and some shoes that match. Goodness, no one cares. You should be more focused on dancing and having fun. And don't wear too much makeup. You'll just sweat it off.

Velvet is a very formal winter thing to wear. What i would do is get a cute black,navy or dark green dress and dress is up with some ballet flats and alittle half jacket if you want. Simple but chic.

hey. i think you should wear patent leather 2-4 heels or flats and wear this dress http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?cat... itssoooo pretty. if your hair is normally straight, scrunch it. and vice versa. but, if you have never scrunched hair before, dont try it on one night, try it earlier in the week. oh, and the smokey eye always works. finish with diorshow mascara and some lip gloss and you will look amazing!

Darker colors like maroon, dark green, dark blue, black, dark purple. Make it more of a semi-formal dress - no prom style dresses, save those for when you go to prom. Go somewhere that isn't too expensive, like a department store like Macy's or JCpenney. If you have a lot of money to spend, Jessica Mcclintock has lots of semi-formal cute dresses for teenagers. Your jewelry, makeup, and hair will largely depend on the style and color that you wear. For those darker colors I mentioned, I'd recommend silver jewelry that has plenty of sparkles. For your hair, since it's semiformal I'd keep it more casual - down or half up and some loose curls would look really pretty. Strappy black shoes are all you need, but don't make the heels too high so that you're comfortable dancing all night.

*sighs* freshman....dont try to hard. Just try something simple like a little black dress or something (goes to the middle of your calf so you can see you shoes). With a black dress, you can wear any color shoes you want. My personal favorite is wearing red round toe heels with a black dress. Then match a piece of jewlery (not all of it) to the shoes. Try doing smokey/dark eyes for the makeup. Dramatic and happens to be my favorite. Don't wear lip gloss or lip stick...and dont wear to much foundation or something. A little is ok. You'll just sweat it off, if you wear too much it can make a mess. :o) have fun and dance like no one is watching!
