I am attending a semi-formal event and am wearing a black halter dress - it is fitted below the bust %26amp; flows out from there, think Marilyn Monroe- %26amp; black peep-toe pumps. Should I wear my blue topaz pendant %26amp; ring (in white gold) and diamond studs or go for something else? I am planning on wearing my hair in an updo. I am also wondering about a wrap or shawl of some sort. This event is in November %26amp; it will be a little chilly, but I don't want anything too bulky. Any suggestions would be appreciated, as would links/pictures!

blue topaz would look gorgeous against the black, i think we should let the ring go and put on the diamond studs. or if you have matching earrings in blue shades i think it'll look pretty as well. hmm the dress flows out from the bust doesn't it? then i think the shawl will overdo it. just stick to simplicity, you can never go wrong.
