Help? 8th grade dance dress!?

I just got the dance form today. It's for the end of the year formal and the theme is "A Night To Remember" and the decoration colors will be black and gold.. but i don't think that means that the dress has to be black or gold.. its going to be on June 5th and i know that is a while from now but i want to get my dress early. im tall.. 5' 8" .. im 14 with tanish skin and dark brown hair with caramel highlights.

thats it i guess.

and the thing on the paper says "wear appropriate attire that you would wear for a formal family dinner. this is NOT a prom"

i don't know what they mean by that... PLEASE HELP!!

It means. wear a dressy dress but not a poofy ,full length Prom dress dont over do it

Just remember , HAVE FUN and wear something comfortable as well as cute. i like the spandex-y dresses but i didnt see to many online. JCPenneys has a ton in-store though

just buy a simple halter cocktail dress, they're cute for all occasions. just dont buy a strapless

get a nice dress a lot of good ones that are nice but nott really fancy and stuff are at charlotte russe %26lt;sooo cute and umm yeah thats the best place

it means nothing shorter than this or showing any more skin.

just a cute but casual dress or outfit, nothing too extreme like in poofyness or vibrant colors.

of course you could always go with a different color, just try to stick with something solid rather than a multicolored dress or something..

I would go knee length. Something pretty but not super girlie. You can go with different color options. But something fun! Try a few of the links below. Or.. what I think would be even better is find some super cute pants and a girlie top .. like this!!!
