Straight Hair Dilemma!!?

I have stick straight hair, and I do not want to curl it because it takes too much time and energy and in the end: it doesn't even stay for more than an hour.

My boyfriend's formal is coming up and I want a really sexy hair style (I would prefer to wear it mostly down) that would look great with my dress - which is a black, strapless, flapper dress (you know, the kind with all the tassels!)I just cannot think of anything easy enough or creative enough to work.

My hair is dark brown and falls right to the top of my nip. (Whatever I said nip .. big deal .. I had to describe it somehow)

curls will stay with the right products. if you use cheap hairspray then yes gone in a hour. try pomades and good hairspray. and dont play with it after u curl it the oils from ur hands will way ur hair down causing it to go straight.

well, my hair is like the same as yours. curling holds like, an hour. so i got this three barrel waver thing, and it looks really cute! plus it holds for 2 whole days! plus if you wore the flapper headnand it would look cute!

You should wait. Also, unwashed hair styles better than cleaner hair. If you want to keep your red in longer, try using a shampoo and conditionner that adds red pigments to your hair, so your red will last longer. =D

U wash it of course, when u r rinsing, so that u get all of the color out. always rinse and wash red hair with the coldest water that u can stand. idky, but it seems to help keep the color from running/fading so much. also use a shampoo/conditioner for red hair. make sure it is for colored hair also. good luck

I am all for low classy dos. Try not to overstyle it, that is the biggest mistake girls make. Don't do the curly updo thing with tons of hair spray, not sleck or attracitve. Also a nice headband is a great addition to a low classy do. Good luck.

so you could always pull it up in a cute pony tail.

I love her hair! I like it cause its still casual enough to wear everyday or to school(im 16). Anyway, i dont know how to make it look like that! My hair is about the same color as hers and about the same length, maybe a couple inches shorter. What makes it tough though, is that my hair is very thin, straight, flat, limp etc. Everyday i just go over it with a straightner to make it look sleeker but im tired of that boring look.

So for wavy hair (trying to achieve whats in the pic) I have tried a few things and they havent worked. I've tried scrunching it but my hair wont hold the scrunch unless i put a lot of product in it and then it looks too dark and crunchy. Curling irons make my hair look way to formal. Braiding it just looks stupid and messy. Maybe one of these techniques is good but im doing it wrong. If you have an idea i'd love lots of details on how to do it! Thank you.

I have that haircut...sorta, and to get my hair wavy, I put it in a bun while it's still wet and let it set for awhile.....then I take it out and it's all wavy and pretty! You may want to use a leave in conditioner or shine serum or mousse(not too much) to keep the wave in your hair, but hopefully that will work for you! Good luck!:-)

Wear some dressy pants with cute high heels and a cute somewhat-dressy shirt. and curl your hair and do your normal makeup just a more dark eyeshadow for the evening look.

The music will play and you just get in a group with friends and just plain dance and laugh and sing along or whatever you feel like doing. You'll catch on once you get there. Then on the slow dances you will dance with your date.

Yes there will be plenty of talking and socializing. The food depends on the school. My school doesn't have food sometimes.

the link that you provided is the perfect dress for a formal. it's not overly done, like winterball or prom. im not an expert on makeup, since i dont really know how to apply mines, but i suggest something really light. dont get too made up, as if you were going to prom. i think eyeliner will suffice. curling your hair will suffice as well. hmm, as far as dancing goes, there will be slow dances, and the regular dance music, as in there will be gyrating. our homecoming was really dark with lights moving from here to there. there should be food, and youll have plenty of time to talk :). have fun!
